Billy Morgan at Sierra Nevada

Back in April Rob and Justin visited Sierra Nevada in Spain for the Spanish Tourism board. They were filming professional snowboarder Billy Morgan and Skier Mirjam Jaeger enjoying what the mountain has to offer for the video series “48 Hours in…” Check out a video Sierra Nevada did that shows a little behind the scenese mixed with our action shots:

The Spanish tourism board were pretty happy with the results

“The ’48 Hours In…’ video series was exactly what the Spanish Tourism Board was looking for; beautiful shots of the cultural activities Spain offers with high profile skiers and snowboarders enjoying the mountains. The video production from Knack Studios was fantastic, from beautiful scenic shots of cultural landmarks to capturing high paced ski and snowboard action. Well done.”

HOMETOWN CRUSHER

Delaney Millar: professional climber- Frisco, Texas
Valentina Holl: professional mountain biker – Saalbach, Austria

We look at aspects such as their first bikes or the first places they climbed, who their school teachers were and how their childhood friends and family had an impact on their careers. Red Bull Skateboarding

Is the traditional skate video as we know it really dead? What is the relevance of the skate video in this modern digital age?

The latest skate documentary from Red Bull (crafted by the guys at Knack Studios), ‘Pushing Forward’ takes a look at the emergence of the solo video part, the impact a traditional premiere still has, the hype behind the biggest team video in recent history and the future of skate videos.

01/Chapter One shines the spotlight on Ryan Decenzo during an important time in his career: as he prepared to drop his online solo video part “Double Down” for Thrasher. Ryan dedicated two full years to filming for this part. The question is raised: Was it worth it?

02/Has social media hurt or helped skateboarding? In Chapter Two of ‘Pushing Forward’ we look at the impact of social media on pro skateboarders and how the modern pro utilizes social media to manage their own brand.

03/So, who really controls skateboarding these days? In Chapter Three of Pushing Forward, we scratch the surface of understanding the modern concept of ‘skater-run’ companies and the role of corporations in the skateboard industry. Torey Pudwill, CEO of Grizzly Griptape, provides us with a unique perspective on what it’s like to run his own company and be a pro skater at the same time.

NO STOPPING

No Stopping from Knack Studios on Vimeo.

In 2003 Rob Norman finished his first full length Ski Video. It was shot mostly on Video 8, Mini DV and DVCAM in and around the Australian Alps and parts of North America. Its a bit rough around the edges by todays standards but brings back some great memories of good times and amazing people! Really reminds us of how lucky we are to do what we do for a living. Everyone involved in this video did it out of pure passion and most of them are still close friends and ripping up the slopes to this day.
Enjoy!
P.s I believe there is not 1 single scenic cutaway which was the style of the time

As the majority of you were in bed resting your hangover while applying filters to your NYE instagrams Andy was boarding a plane headed to Bangkok with a travel company out of the Gold Coast called Letz Live. The brief was simple, Document a trip through Asia visiting volunteer programs set up for Australians in Thailand, Cambodia & Vietnam. After 10 days of dodging mosquitos, breathtaking sunrise & sunsets, $10 foot massages and amazing asian food Andy’s eyes were open to the beauty of Asia and the great work Letz Live are doing over there. redbull.com/snow

“Off the back of the Volcom Pipe Pro, Red Bull Media House engaged Knack Studios to produce digital content for the inaugural Red Bull Double Pipe event; the first time two super pipes have been built side by side. The event was unique not only in the design, but in how it was built with the riders themselves having the final input into how the pipes were shaped. Andy and Sej, along with guest Knacker Phil Rogna produced six quick turn around online videos for redbull.com/snow. Each online video had an instagram tease and all footage was shoot on FS700, 5D or Go-Pro. It was a long week of production and the client was stoked. Our footage was also shared with the Red Bull Signature Series TV crew.”
